Vanity, thy name is Barack Obama

What rankles, though, is Obama's habit of putting down America while praising himself. The laughable assertion that Obama has taken 'historic steps to improve our own democracy' shows not humility but an extreme vanity. A truly humble president would occasionally evince some doubt as to whether he is worthy to lead America. Obama seems to doubt whether America is worthy of being led by him.

Yeah, because Bush was so humble and the Republicans clearly thought carefully about whether or not so thoroughly unqualified and incompetent a man was "worthy" to lead America.

Try actually thinking about your ideas and comparing them to reality, rather than living in the Conservative bubble of outrage...

Thanks for your comments, brave Anonymous.

Please try to understand the post before commenting on it, rather than living in the Liberal bubble of outrage...

The point is that the president's rhetoric shows a marked tendency toward publicly praising himself while disparaging the country he leads. (It's in the first sentence, if you're still looking for it)

Has any other president in our nation's history (regardless of party) ever had this tendency?

Please try to answer the question without using some form of the response "But Bush..."
